As One is a Rochester, NY based Jazz/R&B group consisting of members with close to 200yrs. of combined experience and varying backgrounds with One common goal. To make good music performed at a high level and to have fun doing it!

From jazz fusion to ballads to dance music, As One can do it all. Out front is the melodic soulful sounds of Bakari Smith on sax. The incomparable Gary Brown on guitar, the timekeeper Devonte Oliver on drums, the masterful Larry Singleton on keys, the syncopated musings of Marlowe ‘The Magician’ Ware on percussion and holding the gruuv down is David Haygood Jr. on bass. Vocals are handled by the beautiful and sultry voice of Chelse Chambers. Also, the engaging and energetic Anthony Redding.

I’m one of the founding members of the Rochester based Jazz/R&B group As One. Music has always been a big part of my life and I’ve always been drawn to the bass . So I figured I might as learn and taught myself! With over 15yrs of experience, very few things are as satisfying than playing live music with other like minded musicians.

So whether is Praise & Worship, Jazz, Rock or R&B, I count it all as a Blessing to be able to play this instruments
